1. INTRODUCTION

The Youth Launch (“TYL” “the Company” “the Site” or “our Services”) is owned and operated by The Masani Network, LLC. The Youth Launch is a fundraising platform that helps young, aspiring or established, BIPOC business owners aged 21 and under raise money for their businesses and entrepreneurial ideas. 

By using the Site, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy (including as changed from time to time). If, for any reason, you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please stop using the Site immediately.

We are dedicated to providing a safe online environment to young people and all Site visitors and handle all personal information with care, especially information of children 13 and under.

2. The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) compliance

COPPA requires that we:

  • Post clear online privacy policy with description on how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under the age of 13
  • Obtain verifiable parental consent from parents and guardians in order for children under the age of 13 to utilize certain aspects of the Site. Please submit the Parental Consent Form.
  • Require the visitors under the age of 13  to disclose no more information than is reasonably necessary for a child to participate in a given activity on this site
  • Allow parent and/or guardians to review and delete the information collected about their child and prevent future collection of child’s personal information as desired
  • Allow parents access to account at all times, with the ability to cancel at any time. 
  • Retain child’s personal information for only as long as necessary to fulfill collection purposes. And removing that information using reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized use and/or access.

In the event we are acquired by or merged or consolidated into another entity, or if there is a sale of our assets, your information may be transferred to the entity acquiring us or our assets or the entity that survives the merger or consolidation. 3.2 Cookie Policy and Email Address Policy:

COOKIES

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site’s servers and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies are required for our service. We use cookies to track and record user session information. Some examples include keeping you logged into your account while keeping your session secure, views of specific pages or modals, and the number of password reset requests. We do not use permanent cookies but will require users to log in periodically to our site in order to help protect your account information.

WEB BEACONS

Additionally, emails we send may contain a bit of code known as a “web beacon.” This code allows us to understand the time and date of when a user has opened an email and when he/she has utilized a link within the email to visit a website. Our web beacons do not collect personally identifiable information and you may disable our web beacons. Please see your email client for more information regarding disabling web beacons.

LOG FILES

We employ third party tracking services (Google Analytics) which collect behavioral data on what actions a user took on our site, what pages they viewed, what they clicked, browser, device, IP address, geo-location based on the IP address, and operating system data. We use Google Analytics to see how you use our website and mobile application so that we can improve your experience. We encourage you to read the Google Privacy Policy. If you don’t want your data reported by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

When you register for an account with us, we may collect additional information automatically from you. For example, when you choose to connect your email account with our system, the Company may collect additional information from you, including the content of your e-mail messages, your contacts, and entries in any calendars associated with your email account. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHTS TO CONNECT YOUR EMAIL TO OUR SERVICES. BY CONNECTING A WORK EMAIL TO OUR SYSTEM, YOU REPRESENT THAT YOU HAVE OBTAINED ALL NECESSARY CONSENT FROM YOUR EMPLOYER AND THAT YOUR EMPLOYER HAS READ AND CONSENTED TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY. You may choose not to connect your email account to our system, however, certain parts of our Services may not work.

4. HOW ARE PARENTS NOTIFIED, GIVEN CONSENT, OR ABLE TO ACCESS/CHANGE/DELETE INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM THEIR CHILDREN UNDER 13?

  • Parents are sent an email containing all the information collected from a child under 13 if their child registers with the Site. If a parent does not agree with terms or privacy policy and does not want their child to participate on TYL, they can cancel their child’s account by emailing hello@theyouthlaunch.com. Parents provide consent by either verifying their consent by printing a paper permission slip, signing it, and returning it via email or taking a photo of it and emailing it back.
  • Parents can access, change, or delete information about their child at anytime or refuse further collection and use of the information collected from the child by emailing us at the email address listed below. Parents can access their child’s account using the login information sent to them when their child registered with us or contact Membership Support by emailing us at hello@theyouthlaunch.com.
  • Parents have the right to consent to our collection and use of personal information collected from their child without having to consent to its disclosure to third parties as we do not share information collected from a child with third parties.
  • We will retain your or your child’s information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you wish to cancel the account or request that we no longer use the information to provide services contact us at the email address listed above. We will retain and use the information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
